Now a days we are increasingly coming across advertisements from clinics, hospitals and individual doctor, regarding specific treatments. Recently, there were some advertisements in a national daily newspaper regarding a particular treatment. The advertisement said that they offer 100% guaranteed results. They also claimed that if the patients are not happy with the outcomes, they are entitled for a refund.
Do you think doctors should advertise their treatment as a commodity? Are we raising public’s expectations from us to the point of no return? Is it possible that making such claims or using such language in advertisements may land us in medicolegal hassles in the future?
