In India, women living in the rural parts of the country face high risks of negative and challenging sexual issues. The recent study conducted in the rural areas of Jharkhand highlighted that lack of knowledge along with limited support from various Government Agencies and NGOs requires further strengthening. Young women living in rural parts of India face a lot of sociocultural as well as health challenges. In India, sexual health is still considered as a taboo.
Even though attempts to increase the awareness regarding sexual health in both men and women in urban areas are showing some results, the situation in the rural India is still a concern.
