A new Injectable polio vaccine to be introduced soon In India. The global initiative for eradication of Polio was held in 1988 after World Health Assembly resolution in 1988. Pulse Polio Immunization programme was launched in 1995, India. India has now come up with Injectable polio vaccines (IPV) by new immunisation programme. The introduction of IPV in India's immunisation programme is expected to come out in a week's time.
"The injectable Inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) consists of inactivated (killed) poliovirus strains of all three poliovirus types. The inactivated polio vaccine produces antibodies in the blood to all three types of polio virus.
