Case presentation A 54-year-old male presented to the oral and maxillofacial clinic with a 2-month history of difficulty chewing his food. The patient had no history of smoking or drinking alcohol. Clinical symptoms In the preceding two months, the patient reported a painless brown lesion that had grown on his tongue in the center of a white patch, which has been present for years.
Clinical examination The clinical examination of the patient’s oral cavity revealed a well-circumscribed hard mass, measuring 8 mm by 7 mm which was surrounded by a white patch on the right side of the tongue.
