A 48-year-old female presented to an emergency department with complaints of shortness of breath and severe chest pain persisting for the last 2 hours. She had no previous history of any allergies or major illness. However, she reported to have had a laparoscopic hysterectomy for uterine fibroids about 3 weeks ago. On examination, the ER physician reported the following findings: SPO2-89% on room air, respiratory rate-22 breaths/min, BP-130/82 mmHg, and pulse-132 bpm.
She was well-alert and oriented. While auscultating the lungs, a pleural rub was heard over the right lower lobe.
