Men who have undertaken bariatric surgery as a longstanding method of weight reduction, have a chance of being benefitted from augmented testosterone levels after the surgery. Although there is no evidence of the improvement in sperm quality, according to a comprehensive and wide-ranging review article, the testosterone levels among male patients jump after the surgery is performed.

This comprehensive, meta-analytical review involved a total of 28 case studies (from 1998 to 2018) examining the effect of bariatric surgery on male sex hormones or sperm characteristic along with the date of 1000 plus who underwent weight loss surgery.
