Magnesium (Mg) is required for a variety of physiological functions, from protein synthesis to respiration. Mg deficiency is most commonly caused due to a shortage of this mineral in the diet. The research group at The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia has recently published a study in the journal Scientific Reports on the consumption of Mg and vitamin B6 (Vit B6) and its effect on the clinical status in women. Four-week treatment with Mg and Vit B6 improved the severity of symptoms in pregnant women and quality of life score in women with hormone-related conditions.
In addition, an improvement in the severity of threatened miscarriage symptoms was noted in pregnant women.
