Brachial plexus block - often taken very lightly by Anaesthesiologists and Surgeons— INFACT is the most riskiest Procedure in the Entire branch of Anaesthesia. Even with nerve locators/ultrasound guidance - these are very risky procedures, even life-threatening. A large volume of local anaesthetic drugs are EMPTIED into the patient’s body — with ONLY presumed right location, the right position of the Needle. The needle may get displaced at any time.

Local Anaesthetics are strong CNS and CVS  depressants — Initial stimulant effect and with further drug — Depressant effects. Often resuscitation is possible with early detection of COMPLICATION, BUT sometimes resuscitation TOTALLY FAILS.— EVEN when all precautions, gadgets etc etc Every thing is readily available .. and SOMETIMES — apnea, cardiac arrest are observed 1-2 hours after the block is administered.
