Despite significant advances in the management of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), it remains the number one cause of maternal complications, especially in developing nations, with 70,000 deaths each year. Recently, researchers from the WHO designed a novel strategy aimed at the early detection of the condition and effectively managing it to reduce its associated mortality. The method known as the E-MOTIVE intervention involves using a calibrated drape along with other previously WHO-recommended interventions together instead of sequentially to minimize blood loss and improve condition-associated mortality.
