A 25-year-old female came to the ophthalmology clinic with complaints of visual changes. She also complained of intermittent episodes of redness and photophobia in both the eyes for the last 10 years. On examination: Visual acuity of (right eye) 20/30 and (left eye) 20/25.
Slit-lamp examination: Conjunctival hyperemia and peripheral corneal opacification along with inflammation and crystalline deposits on the corneal stroma (consistent with interstitial keratitis). Lab investigations: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR): 39 mm/hour (normal value: <21 mm/hour) A diagnosis of interstitial keratitis was made, however, six months after the diagnosis, the patient came back with complaints of vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss.
