Scientists in China developed a cancer detection test, which requires a single drop of blood. Luo Yongzhang and his team at Tsinghua University, developed a Hsp90a kit to diagnose various kinds of cancer. Earlier studies by the team has shown that Hsp90a is a heat shock protein, present in the blood plasma, which can be used as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis. Now, they have produced Hsp90a artificially that can be used as a testing kit.

Clinical trial was conducted, including 2,347 patients at eight hospitals in China, to test if the kit can successfully diagnose lung cancer. The kit has now been certified to be commercially launched in Chinese and European market. Source: The Economic Times
