Case presentation  A 35-year-old male reported to the emergency department with a 4-month history of bloody mixed stools and a 1-week fever (low-grade). A considerable weight loss was observed along with anorexia, and he was easily fatigable. Pallor was apparent on general physical examination, with localized pain in the left iliac fossa.

Blood mixed stool was revealed on a digital rectal examination; however, there was no intraluminal growth. Clinical investigations revealed Anemia (Hb—7.6 g/dl), leucocytosis (total counts—14,600 cells/mm3) Normal liver and renal function test The carcinoembryonic antigen level in the blood was within normal limits. A CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis revealed a large (8X5 cm), well-defined, uniformly enhancing intraluminal soft tissue lesion (Red arrow in the cover image) in the sigmoid colon, with few potentially dangerous lymph nodes (Cover image).…
