35 year old female, housewife, 10th class passed, came with ulcer at left foot since 9 months. She had history of Hansen’s disease since 7 years. Taken MDT for 1.5 year. Had claw hand deformity of both sides. Did claw hand correction surgery 5 years back. Now patient developed ulcer at plantar aspect of left foot, at lateral aspect of 5th toe region. Ulcer was painless, not healing since 9 months. Referred to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department for further management. Sensation was absent from L3 dermatome onwards.

Intrinsic foot muscle atrophy was present. Ulcer size was approximately 3 cm X 3 cm X .05 cm. located at head of 4th and 5th metatarsal. Sero-purulent discharge was present. Ulcer edges were sloping, margins were non tender. Ulcer floor contains necrotic debris. Diagnosis of Trophic ulcer secondary to Hansen’s disease was made. Ulcer discharge was sent for culture…
