Complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSIs) are a group of very commonly found bacterial infections that require frequent hospitalization. The causative agents include Gram-positive cocci (Streptococci and Staphylococci), Gram-negative rods, and anaerobic bacteria. Treatment with antimicrobials forms an integral part of the management strategy for these infections.
