Childhood asthma has been known to be associated as a risk factor in various illnesses. A recent study shows that childhood asthma increases risk of herpes zoster in adults. Herpes zoster shows its prevalence around the world. It is still unknown why some adults between ages 50 and 59 develop and others do not. The scientists conducted their research to assess whether associated with an increased risk of zoster in adults. The study was population-based and case-controlled. The scientists compared 371 patients with zoster with 742 matched controlled subjects.
