Telemedicine may help combat misdiagnoses, delay and suboptimal treatment of headaches but it is always assumed that doctors and patients feel less satisfactory during telemedicine consultations as compared to the traditional ones. In this regard, a recent study demonstrated that telecommunication consultations can be a good alternative for both doctors and patients when either of them cannot interact in the traditional way. The study particularly focused on the long-term satisfaction of patients with non-acute headache with telemedicine and their consultation preferences.
For 2.5 years, patients were consecutively screened, recruited and randomly assigned to telemedicine or traditional visits with a consultation at a neurological outpatient department.
