Gastric cancer refers to the 4 th highest cause of cancer-related death. The overall rate of gastric cancer is increasing. Risk factors include male gender, Helicobacter pylori infection, atrophic gastritis, partial gastrectomy, Menetrier’s disease and genetic factors such as hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, familial adenomatous polyposis, hereditary diffuse gastric cancer and Peutz–Jeghers syndrome. This guideline is developed by The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the European Society of Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO).
