Rib hyperostosis, a benign phenomenon , is commonly seen in conditions causing excessive vertebral ossification, such as diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis and seronegative spondyloarthropathies. However, it remains a diagnostic dilemma for radiologists owing to its alarming appearance on imaging ― the thickened and sclerotic involved bone with an increased radiotracer uptake on bone scintigraphy mimics malignancy. Here, we discuss two cases of rib hyperostosis.
