Given the increasing incidences of infection and deaths related to COVID-19, many pharmacologic therapies are being considered. In addition, the rapid emergence of a large body of literature necessitates the development of evidence-based guidelines to help clinicians decide on treatment plans. The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has created up-to-date, comprehensive guidelines that compile 32 recommendations for COVID-19 treatment. This excerpt from an updated IDSA guideline focuses on the use of convalescent plasma (Table 1) for treating and managing COVID-19.
