Case presentation A 55-year-old Caucasian male visits the dermatology department complaining of palpable purpura. Erythematous maculae were visible on the trunk and lower extremities of the body, and were associated with pain, burning and itching. The first appearance of such eruptions was observed by the patient one month after the initiation of the treatment for hepatitis. Medical history The patient had a history of HCV genotype-1 related hepatitis for which he was treated with a 24-week course of Sofosbuvir (SOF) (400mg/day).

Investigation of the lesions Polymorphous vascular pattern with erythematous border. Microscopic observation showed perivascular inflammatory infiltrate in papillary and mild dermal edema.
