Case presentation A 7-year-old Turkish boy was presented to the hospital with complaints of fever, chest pain, and vomiting. On arrival at the hospital, the boy had a respiratory rate of less than 55 pulse per minute. Auscultation of his lungs revealed diminished breath sounds of the lower lobe of the left lung. Chest X-ray and chest ultrasonography showed lower lobar consolidation with pleural effusion. With increasing pleural effusion (Image above), thoracentesis was performed.

With the insertion of the chest tube, 130ml of pus was drained. Despite broad spectrum of antibiotics, high fever persisted for 15 days. Non-Purulent conjunctivitis was seen in both eyes, perianal peeling and desquamation of hand, fingers, and toes were also seen. Albumin, creatinine, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, blood urea nitrogen, calcium, sodium, and potassium levels were normal.…
