A 44-year-old woman presented for a routine transthoracic electrocardiography exam a day after a significant and emotional dispute with her spouse. History June 2017 – The patient had undergone implantation of continuous left-ventricular assist device as a bridge for transplantation. The implantation was performed as a result of severe worsening heart failure. February 2018 – The patient underwent heart transplantation (HTx) due to an idiopathic, non-ischemic, and non-dilated cardiomyopathy.
The heart donor was a 39-year-old premenopausal woman who had died because of a spontaneous hemorrhagic cerebral bleeding. Additionally, she was a light-smoker. Post-HTx Follow-up – After HTx, the patient was normal and had a regular menstrual cycle.
