In an elderly female patient of 65 years age, normotensive, euglycemic, normal haemoglobin complains of recurrent dizziness lasts for few minutes (severe in nature), since several years. No evidence of postural hypotension, no electrolyte disturbance, patient was evaluated by ENT surgeon Was put on the betahistine+cinnarzine combination for several months patient had temporary relief. Again dizzy spells started recurring not satisfactorily responded to prochlorperazine also MRI found to be normal, past history revealed that patient had dyslipidemia since 10 years which was not corrected, so carotid doppler was done, which showed calcified plaque with 25% block (bilateral carotids).
Is adding 75 mg of aspirin and 20 mg of atorvastatin (ldl>160 mg) will improve patient's dizzy spells?
