What is pyoderma gangrenosum? Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is characterized by the development of sterile inflammatory pustules that rapidly expand into ulcers with violaceous, undetermined borders. It is often associated with comorbidities, including inflammatory bowel diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and malignant neoplasms. The early detection of comorbidity may diminish the overall disease course and lead to improvement in PG.
Objective To examine the effect of age on the clinical presentation and associated comorbidities of PG. Methods The medical record of 365 patients with PG was reviewed, and the demographic, clinical, and therapeutic data were extracted.
