Knee bracing is often used as an adjunct to core nonpharmacologic management in knee osteoarthritis , but evidence supporting its benefit has been limited and inconsistent. To clarify its role, a study evaluated whether adding compartment-specific knee bracing plus an adherence intervention to advice, written information, and exercise instruction (AIE+B) improves outcomes compared with AIE alone in adults (n=466) with knee osteoarthritis . In the study, the AIE+B group showed greater improvement in the Knee Osteoarthritis Outcomes Score (KOOS-5) at six months than the AIE group, with an adjusted mean difference of 3.39 points.
