Two individuals, including a doctor, were booked in Uttar Pradesh following a gender change surgery performed on a 20-year-old man without his consent. According to the victim, he had been sexually assaulted by one of the accused persons for the past two years. He claimed that he was sedated and taken to the hospital, where the surgery was performed while he was unconscious. The victim further alleged that the accused person threatened to kill his father if he resisted marrying him. However, doctors from the hospital denied the victim’s claims, asserting that the surgery was conducted with his consent.
