A resident doctor from the Pediatrics Department at Sola Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, has been suspended following a late-night altercation with a patient’s family that went viral on social media. The Gujarat Health Minister has ordered a high-level inquiry and assured strict disciplinary action if misconduct is confirmed. The incident occurred around 9 pm on Sunday when a child suffering from fever and breathing difficulties was brought to the hospital’s pediatric ward.
The patient’s relatives alleged that no doctor was present initially.
