Recently, resident doctors at the University College of Medical Sciences and one of the hospitals at Delhi, India, faced a harrowing incident when a mob of 50-70 individuals armed with assault weapons stormed the gynaecology department. The attackers assaulted on-duty doctors, threatened hospital staff, and caused significant damage to hospital property. In response to this violence, the Resident Doctors' Association has called for a strike, demanding the registration of an institutional FIR related to the incident.
