Bladder cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy of the urinary tract and the seventh most common cancer in men and the 17 th in women. Although increasing evidence suggests that genetic predisposition has a significant influence on the incidence of BC, modifiable lifestyle changes such as smoking and occupational exposure are important risk factors for BC. Therefore, there is a great need for awareness among general population regarding BC, its prevalence and causative factors as well as healthcare professionals about its management.
In this regard, European Association of Urology has established guidelines that help to address these issues and offer guidance on best practice.
