Superficial bladder cancer (SBC) is characterized by a tumor that is confined within the lining of the bladder and absence of any muscle layer metastasis. This article is a brief synopsis of the guideline for the evidence-based management of SBC with Electrically Stimulated Intravesical Chemotherapy (ESIC). Transurethral resection (TUR) is considered as the cornerstone for the treatment of SBC. TUR involves the use of an electrocautery device during the process of cystoscopy. The device removes the malignant tissue.

The management procedure may make use of intravesical chemotherapy with BCG vaccine or chemotherapeutic molecules as monotherapy or adjuvant therapy after TUR.
