Clinically known as postcoital contraception and commonly “morning after pill”, emergency contraceptive measures has played a pivotal role in planning one’s parenthood. This article delineates the available modes of such emergency contraception and its limitations. Women who have had an unprotected sex or failed on her regular birth control medication are the potential candidate for this therapeutic intervention. This is just an emergency backup method and does not replace the need of regular contraceptives.
