Pacing holds an important position in electrophysiology. The last pacing guidelines were released by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in 2013, and therefore, it was felt necessary to issue the new set of guidelines. A Task Force was established to create new guidelines after including inputs from leading experts in the field of pacing (Figure 1). While some principles of pacing remain unchanged, many others have evolved with time-based on evidence from research updates.

In addition to these research areas, many questions call for interest for practicing physicians. Figure 1. Representative bodies of Task Force Key features 2021 Guidelines from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) in Cardiac Pacing and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) include the following: 1.
