Dry eye disease (DED) causes ocular surface damage due to tear film instability and has several contributing factors. Patients with this condition commonly complain of ocular pain/discomfort and visual disturbances. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that the prolonged use of digital screens increases the risk of DED, mainly due to the changes in blinking dynamics. Here’s a video that gives an overview of DED, the prevalence of DED among computer users, and the study results on the same using various diagnostic parameters.
