In India, a variety of types of diabetes are seen in younger age groups. This includes T1DM, T2DM, maturity-onset diabetes of young, fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes, gestational diabetes, endocrine diabetes and diabetes secondary to genetic syndrome. In this KOL Interview, Dr. Ganesh Jevalikar discusses ‘The manifestation, classification and therapeutic options of childhood diabetes.’ Dr. Ganesh Jevalikar is a pediatric endocrinologist.
He has worked as a faculty in Department of Pediatrics at Sir J J Group of Hospitals Mumbai. He has been a visiting fellow at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. His current research topics include childhood diabetes Turner syndrome and Graves’ disease. He runs a structured type 1 diabetes management programme at Medanta.
