Health Ministry released the first ever patient charter in our country. The charter is adopted by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and guided by national level provisions.
Till now the charter was stuck in different legal provisions like the Indian Constitution, the IMA Regulations 2002, the Consumer Protection Act 1986, the Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940, the Clinical Establishment Act 2002, and other rules and regulations from different legal forums.
