Focal cortical dysplasia is a condition with seizure potential. There are three types described in the literature. A boy of 13 years having partial complex seizure in the form of both eyes going up with loss of eye sight with unawareness of the environment for five minutes and returning back to normalcy for the past three years without clonic tonic convulsions. EEG shows generalized intermittent sharp wave discharge potential . CT Scan Brain reported as infarct in the left parietal region. MRI Brain is showing a possible tumour but not reported by the specialist and asked for contrast and spectroscopy and MRI contrast reported as Focal Cortical Dysplasia in the parietal region on the left side.
MRI spectroscopy is normal. Patient is on AED - Phenytoin 100 mg thrice daily. Previously on Levetiracetam 500 mg BD. No episode at present. The imaging pictures are shown for the rarity of the…
