Gender bias in India is a major concern across all the areas of society including medicine. New UNICEF report shows that it has stooped to even lower levels. The shocking trend suggests that it starts right from the neonatal care. Recent findings presented by UNICEF in the conference for Maternal and New-born care in Mexico are shocking. The data presented by UNICEF suggests that global trend in the gender bias for treatments involving neonatal care are depressing across most of the developing countries. In India, this trend has worsened in last few years, in spite of policy changes to negate gender discrepancy.
