A 36-year old woman, three weeks post-partum, presented with complaints of vaginal discharge and swelling in the clitoral region. Past medical and medication history: The post-operative period was uneventful for the mother, but the baby showed signs of infection. The neonatal CRP (C - reactive protein) was raised, and intravenous antibiotics were administered for seven days.

Physical examination: Genital examination showed clitoral swelling with vaginal discharge (not offensive, discolored, or itchy). No other clinical signs of puerperal sepsis apart from vaginal discharge and genital swelling were observed. Source – Clinical Case Studies The answer will be posted soon!
