When compared to tumors in adult patients, tumors in children are rare and comprise less than 1% of all cancer cases. Among all the pediatric cancers, 5โ€“10% are rare tumors. The International Society of Pediatric Surgical Oncology (IPSO) has published surgical practice guidelines for treating 11 pediatric tumors in the journal eCancer Medical Science.
