1. There is 80% chance that it will resolve in the third trimester on its own and then there is no need of further management in the postnatal period. 2. Twenty per cent of this foetus will have to worsen of hydronephrosis in the third trimester and they will need surgical intervention. 3. BHUN can be caused by any one of the following conditions.

Bilateral vesico-ureteric reflux  Bilateral VUJ obstruction Posterior urethral valve Urethras atresia Prune belly syndrome Urogenital sinus Pelvic tumour. The posterior urethral valve is the commonest cause of BHUN in the male foetus. 4. In the foetuses, where there is worsening of hydronephrosis should have repeat USG every 4-6 weeks.
