The ongoing MBBS and BDS admissions are put on hold as the Madras high court has ordered that, 196 “grace marks” will be awarded to 24,000 students who wrote the NEET-2018 in Tamil. This has disrupted the admission process and the CBSE is asked to come up with a fresh list of candidates. These grace marks are awarded as 49 questions were framed inaccurately due to wrong translation. This has accounted for a total of 196 marks, 4 marks per question, which will now be given as grace.

More than 24000 students who have appeared for the exam in Tamil are now excited. They will automatically qualify for MBBS/BDS admissions even if their original score was zero, or even -100. While those who have already bagged a seat based on merit find it unfair as their seat would be snatched and given to these grace mark students.
