Journal Article Synopsis Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the leading causes of disabilities and death. It has been common in recent past and now has been termed as “Silent Epidemic”. The study published in Journal of American Society of Geriatrics suggests that common health problems from early ages can be good indicators to predict traumatic brain injuries in later ages. Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) in older patients and especially geriatric patients are common and often result in severe consequences.
In elderly patients, it often results in disability, partial motor dysfunction or death. In the last few years, TBI has become common and hence been named as a “silent epidemic”.
