Hormonal Antiandrogen Acne Treatment (HAAT) is not typically used as a first-line systemic therapy in women with acne reported as p recent study published in American journal of clinical dermatology. A recent retrospective study which aimed to identify dermatologists’ HAAT-prescribing behaviors and its impact on antibiotic use in women with acne reported that HAAT is not typically used as a first-line therapy in women with acne. Furthermore, study suggests that among the all available medications for acne, antibiotics were used as first-line treatment in 39% of patients, combined oral contraceptives in 12%, and spironolactone in 21%.
