Females are more vulnerable to Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) than males. But the fact that UTIs pose a risk to male infertility, demands attention. This article discusses male infertility due to UTI, its diagnosis and treatment. UTI is the 4 th most common type of infection in the world. While in the initial stages, it causes sudden urge to urinate frequently; when it gets severe, it may impair fertility. Few of the known causative agents are Extended- Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemases and New Delhi Metallo-Beta Lactamase-1.
