Hypertension Canada has published a new guideline to support primary care providers in the diagnosis and management of hypertension in individuals aged 18 years and older. Developed using the WHO’s HEARTS framework, the guideline was created by a committee primarily composed of primary care providers, hypertension and methodology experts, and patients. This guideline is intended for primary care providers, policy-makers, patients, and caregivers.

It is not recommended for use in managing hypertension in children, pregnant women, or women attempting to conceive.
