The relationship between lifestyle and COVID-19 is complex. Many studies have been conducted to assess the effect of smoking and diet on COVID-19. However, most findings have been either inconclusive or contradictory. We present to you the results of a pan-India serosurveillance study conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). According to the pan-India serosurvey conducted by CSIR, smokers, vegetarians , and people with blood group ‘O’ were at a lower risk of contracting the SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The survey was conducted by a team of 140 doctors on 10,427 volunteers working in CSIR laboratories in urban and semi-urban areas.
