This guideline intended to advice best practice on referral for suspected cancer in adults and children based on new research evidence and the findings of audits undertaken since 2000. The guideline provides insights about diagnosis process, decision making about treatment, referral options and further investigations, the involvement of patients, their parents and considerations of their personal circumstances, such as age, family or work responsibilities, isolation, or other health or social issues. In this guidelines, general and specific recommendations have been discussed for different types of cancer viz., lung cancer, lower GI cancer, breast cancer, urological cancer, thyroid cancer etc., related risks and risk factors, and further investigations.
