The Government of India has launched the PM RAHAT (Road Accident Victim Hospitalization and Assured Treatment) Scheme, a nationwide initiative designed to provide cashless emergency care to road accident victims. Approved by the Prime Minister from Seva Teerth, the program focuses on rapid intervention, patient protection, and timely reimbursement for hospitals. Road traffic injuries remain a major public health concern, with nearly half of fatalities considered preventable if patients reach medical facilities within the Golden Hour.

PM RAHAT brings accident reporting, emergency response, and hospital admission onto a single technology-enabled pathway to reduce delays and improve survival.
