“Immature teeth are defined as those that have been in the mouth for less than three years, with incomplete apical development, and root walls that have not yet been fully formed” (Hatami & Dreyer, 2019). Recently erupted young permanent teeth (YPT) have incomplete apical development. Young permanent first molars are highly susceptible to caries, often compromising the dental pulp. Given the high reparative ability of young permanent molars, preserving pulp vitality and continued root development must be the treatment goal for dental caries in such teeth.
