The Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) will be introduced in the routine immunisation programme of the government to do away with the risk of re-introduction of the disease. The government is also ready to implement the switch from tOPV to bOPV as recommended by World Health Organization. India was declared polio free on March 27, 2014.
